Tips by Symantec with regards to Internet Security for year 2015

What I can summarize from this article - http://www.thestar.com.my/News/Nation/2014/12/28/Cyber-landscape-of-2015-From-targeted-attacks-to-ransomware-security-firm-Symantec-Malaysia-predicts):

1. Don't be the "weak link" in your organization.. (can you understand what this means? or you need me to elaborate?) :D

2. PASSWORD - i think it has been repeatedly mentioned everywhere - protect your password.. protect your ATM pin code .. blah blah blah.. but people still find it hard to use different password for different transaction.. i know it's hard to remember many password .. so here the tips:

You can use a single password for all your transaction.. but make it different by keywords. for example, I love nasik lemak .. so I  use this password for:

i) Yahoo -   N2sikL3makYah00
ii) Gmail -  Gm4ilN2sikL3mak
iii) Office - N2sik0pisL3mak

spot the similarity? oh yer, this is only example.. although I do love nasik lemak, but I don't use this example in my real passwords list .. :D

3. Don't share your location, friends list or photos with public!!! if you're not a target, you might feel that it is safe to share to other people.. but you never know when you will be a target ... remember the "Kiki" case? once she's a target, people know everything about her, fullname, where she work, where she lived..etc... so be cautious.. you don't want people to know who you are once you're a target...

but ... people might know a lot about me because of my work.. so I pray hard to Allah to keep me safe from all the embarrassment in the world..

4. Be careful when taking pictures... don't take any photos with your phone / mobile device that you will regret if it ever become available to public with or without your consent..

5. Be careful with the cloud .. understand its risks .. aware of its vulnerabilities .. remember the naked American actress case??

Other tips which not mentioned in the article:

6. Always lock you PC when you're not at your desk..

7. Always log out from any account when you're using public computer (actually this habit is good even with your own computer  .. try NOT to login to any banking websites when using public computer / public wifi .. if you really need to do the transaction from public computer, make sure you log out & clear its cache.. and be alert for any unnormal email / sms from the bank after the transaction ..

I think that's enough for today .. I'll write more from time to time if I ever have any tips / ideas.

Till then, be safe..

Blur image from Google Map

Recently Google Malaysia has announce their latest update on Google Map in Malaysia.. Now you can see the roads, buildings, schools, public area, using Google Map.. it's easy and fun too ...

However, when I enter my house address, I can see my house clearly ..
I don't want people to see my house or what type of car I use .. and how many cars I have ..  and the list goes on ...

So luckily 1 of my facebook friend gave me this link..

HELPME] How To Remove Your House From Google Street View

'There's not a whole lot of privacy to go around nowadays, so it's a good idea to take advantage of any opportunity for anonymity you can find. It's actually pretty easy to ask Google to blur out your house from Street View.'

SOURCE: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/07/07/remove-google-street-view_n_5563939.html

So do it..

I did it for my house, and it worked.. Google did blur my house from public view..
and once it is blurred, it will be permanent... no way to undone it..

but who need to know your house anyway .. if you want to send the picture of your house to a friend, emailed it to them, or facebook it.. but not Google Map it..

Please do this.. you don't want to be stalk by people... do you?

Throat Singing by traditional singer in Ulaanbaatar

Throat singing....making the human voice soar, quiver and drone, its pitches in eerie unison like a bagpipe...

Cute!!

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia

Mongoliaaa...

All I wanted to say about this place is  .. I Love it!! It's really an interesting place.. the people are warm, friendly and they love tourists.. another thing I love about Ulaanbaatar, is the mountains surrounding it..

On the first hour I reached Ulaanbaatar, i almost changed my ticket back to Thursday.. My meeting ends on Wednesday.. and my flight back to KL should be on Thursday, reached Malaysia at midnight .. probably not going to office on Friday due to jetlag and tiredness of traveling.. and this is my first time came to this beautiful and lovely place that I heard from people .. so I asked the travel agent to book my flight back on Friday instead.. and I have Thursday to visit this place..

but back to the early point, I almost changed it to Thursday due to my first impression about Ulaanbaatar.. did I mentioned that I didn't want to go back to Africa, unless for meeting.. that's the same impression I had when I came here..
Malaysia's Flag in front of Best Western Hotel, Ulaanbaatar
However, after the 1st day in the training room, and took time to walk around the area near my hotel after the meeting, it started to get into me.. the warmness of its people makes me feel like I want to explore this country more.. and with the cultural dance and songs and nature, makes me fall in love with this place...

Today is my 3rd day here and my meeting will ends tomorrow.. today, the organizer took us to a cultural dance, which I really appreciate it.. I really like their music .. it's fun, funky and some of them are comforting music like Kitaro's songs.. relaxing songs.. of course they also have their traditional songs that sounds like lightning that can break a glass though.. hehehehe ..

Another interesting thing about this country .. they are universal.. the plug point (power point) is universal- you don't have to bring universal adapter in their hotel (or at least the hotel I stayed) .. and they drive left and right.. some cars on the left, some cars on the right.. hahahahahaa interesting.. but their traffic was really bad in Ulaanbaatar.. the government need to do something about it..

Here are some photos I took earlier today:
Government Palace at the Sükhbaatar Square
Chinggis Khan aka Genghis Khan Monument in front of the Government Palace
If you read the history about Genghis Khan, you'll be impress on how he built the Mogul Empire .. Genghis Khan is known to the world as great military leader, but not to forget, cruel person.. but he was definitely someone with great personality and leadership during his time..

Istanbul .... Video...

My trip to Istanbul..

Thank you and credit to my friend Najib who produce this video...

Miniartuk, Turkey

I promised to continue writing about Turkey .. this time I want to write about Miniartuk, in Istanbul.. if you're in a rush or don't have time to travel around Turkey, you may want to come to this place..

I took a taxi from Istanbul to this place, it cost me about TLR20 per way.. quite expensive but I don't really have much choice because I was alone and lazy to think on how to get there in a cheap way.. traveling alone sucks .. it used to be fun .. it's always nice to have company .. maybe I'm getting older.. hu hu hu..

Personal opinion : I like this place..

Miniartuk Area
One of the mini mosque - Selimiye Camii, Edirne

They don't have private guide, but they have talking machine.. nice!!
Nemrut Dagi miniature.. it looks superb.. I wish I had time to come here..
Some of the miniature at the location..

I took almost 2 hours enjoying the historical monuments in Turkey..
